Employing young people can be one of the most difficult decisions for an organisation to make. Skillseekers programmes are based on the national standards of SVQs. Our Work Experience Programme, helps the young people to:

• Develop specific work skills to meet your particular needs
• Develop their flexibility in their approach to the workplace.
• Progress towards a nationally recognised qualification whilst gaining valuable work experience.

Use our Step by Step Guide to help you recruit the right person.

• We will help select the candidates that meets your job requirements

• You can interview these candidates at your premises or ours if you wish

• We can assist in your selection of the right person by giving background knowledge on each candidate 

• Agree simple terms to have the candidate for up to 4 months (max) on placement, during which you pay us GBP22.00 plus VAT per day, to cover their allowance and travel expenses. 

• If satisfied, at the end of the placement or before, offer employment to the candidate, and pay them the going rate for the job, allowing us to continue with periodic on-the-job assessments, free of charge, towards the completion of their Scottish Vocational Qualification or Modern Apprenticeship.
