Skills for Growth - Call Centre Training Programme
Margaret McKenzie,
started the Call Centre Programme in late March 2004. Margaret, from
Craigneuk, Wishaw came to our programme with no experience of
Call Centres and very
little experience of the world of work.
Very quickly, it
became apparent that 28 year old Margaret had a flair for working with the
telephone. So much so that we have employed Margaret to enhance our
telesales team.
Skillseeker - Modern Apprentice
Modern Apprentice
David Napier, started his training programme in March 2002. David quickly
secured employment, with the help of ITEC Integrations, with Stiell
Facilities (now Alfred McAlpines) in Tannochside and progressed to achieving
his Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration.
At his most recent
appraisal his manager commented -
“David’s overall
performance for the year has been outstanding especially under added
pressures…”
Adult Modern
Apprenticeships
Val Houston joined the Modern Apprenticeship for Adults
programme in May 2002 whilst working full-time with a company on Blantyre.
Val decided that she wanted to improve her career prospects and viewed the
Modern Apprenticeship programme as a means of doing this.
Val successfully completed her Modern Apprenticeship in
Administration and As a result of gaining the qualification she has
progressed within her career and is now currently working for leading
children's charity in Scotland.
Quote from Val
"Through completing my
Modern Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3) in Administration with ITEC Integrations
Ltd, I have gained many skills within the office environment. I have the
ability to set up new office systems and set about tasks using my own
initiative. I have a new found confidence, which helps me immensely when
communicating with people; both internal and external to the Organization in
which I work.
This new qualification
has improved my job prospects a great deal. I have faced redundancy twice
and through gaining this qualification, I noticed that I received a much
better response to job applications compared to before I had the
qualification. I am now working as Project Administrator for one of the UK's
leading Children's Charities. The Project in which I work is fairly new and
the office had to be set up from scratch. Although this was very
challenging, the office is now set up and is running really well. This has
given me a good sense of achievement. I am thoroughly enjoying carrying out
my tasks knowing that I have the ability and confidence to do so.
My Training Assessor
(Ann Marie) gave me plenty of encouragement and advice as I worked through
each of my units, keeping me motivated at all times. The other staff that I
met at ITEC Integrations was very friendly and encouraging too. I would
recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenging career in
Administration".
