Introductory Level
This course is designed to give an introduction to Microsoft Word, covering the basic concepts of word processing, showing the user how to create, edit and print documents and how to fully utilise major Word for Windows features
Pre-Requisite: Delegates attending this course should be already working with Microsoft Word and wish to expand their knowledge, or should be about to commence using Microsoft Word, or are converting from another Word Processing package.

What is Word?- Recognise the different elements of the word application window
- Create a new document
- Enter text
- Change page display modes
- Use zoom to view a document at different magnification
- Select text
- Delete text
- Use the undo, and redo commands
- Insert the date and time
- Cut, copy and paste with the windows clipboard
- Use the paste options smart tag to change the format of pasted text
- Use drag and drop to move and copy text
- Set the default measurement units
- Show and hide rulers
- Set page orientation, paper size and margins
- Insert page breaks
- Select and change font and font size
- Apply font formats
- Apply character effects and colours
- Set left, right, hanging and first line indents
- Align paragraphs relative to margins
- Control automatic hyphenation of words
- Set line and paragraph spacing options
- Use Print Preview
- Print a document
- Print the current page or range of pages
- Print multiple copies of a document
- Set print options
- Cancel a print job
- Start a bulleted or numbered list automatically
- Add bullets and numbering to a list
- Change the appearance of bullet characters
- Use the spelling and grammar checker to correct errors in a document
- Add unrecognized words to the custom dictionary
